QUANTITY & QUALITY
purge.xxx records are produced in limited quantities to a standard without parallel in the market of today, yesterday, tomorrow. this isn’t in the interests of scarcity: PR is a joke and surplus is sin and space evades us
REISSUES?
it isn’t right to describe any purge.xxx release as a “reissue”. Unless explicit the works we put out have never been released before, so they aren’t reissues, and because they haven’t had their time til now that makes them just as “new” as anything else. No difference between work created and released in 2023 as work created in 1973 and released in 2023. Both new. Time is the oldest ideological construct and blind faith in “progress” is partly the reason everything that isn’t purge.xxx is as bad as it is
POSTAGE
we don’t re-press and we have neither the resources nor interest to compensate for the great mysteries of courier services, so we have to ship tracked & signed. this is why some of those costs look high and higher still: until 2021 we straddled the line between the uk and the eu but this is obviously no longer possible. all of our operations will thus be moving to the eu over the course of the year. for this reason eu shipping has gone down and uk shipping has gone up. no other way. our payments system will soon switch entirely from £ to €. it’s also worth clarifying that not only do we not make money from shipping: we invariably lose money on it, if you’re considering packaging and TIME (we don’t). we charge the absolute minimum we can, appreciating how prohibitive these costs can be. (if you have a bulk order and the total seems wrong do get in touch)

we are in the process of phasing out the use of PVC in our packaging because however world-beating it is also evil. all other materials used both papers and plastics are recycled blahblah
