John Smith, unusual Red cardigan

unusual Red cardigan (2011) is a video by JOHN SMITH recounting his discovery of a VHS tape of his work for sale on eBay, and how his curiosity about the identity of its seller, who went by the name of ‘serenporfor’, led to his purchase of other items they had for auction on the site.

The VHS the seller auctioned for sale has long been out-of-print, and considered lost to SMITH himself... until very recently, when he uncovered a single copy of the tape.

purge.xxx is issuing this VHS tape in an edition of one (1) copy only, available exclusively via eBay, using the name of the original seller (in anagram form), and starting bidding at the original seller’s reserve price of £100. At the end of the auction, JOHN SMITH will personally travel with the VHS tape to Maesteg in Wales where the seller was based, to post it to the highest bidder (at no extra cost).

The VHS will contain an online link to view unusual Red cardigan, and is signed by JOHN SMITH. It will also include a printed screenshot of the original auction, and this one, and all sales receipts from SMITH’s trip to Maesteg.
